The Modelling Industry Says She’s Fat, But The Weight Scale Says She’s Underweight

If you work in the modelling industry or know anyone that does, then you should see this.

In this video, former model, Agnes Hedengård explains her predicament in the Swedish modelling industry, and what she has to say is not cool.

If these are truly the standards for modelling internationally, then anorexia should be considered a crime. This is the reason why some of the women in the modelling industry look so ‘breakable’.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, the anorexia mortality rate is 12 times higher than any other cause of death in women ages 15 to 24 in America. People with Anorexia Nervosa are 18 times more likely to die early compared with people of similar age in the general population.

Anorexia Nervosa is characterized by emaciation, an unrelenting pursuit of thinness and an unwillingness to maintain a healthy weight. Some patients simply stop eating or reduce their food intake to tiny amounts, leading to self-starvation. Some sufferers of Anorexia tend to exercise or diet excessively while others lose body mass by self-induced vomiting, or misusing laxatives, diuretics, and enemas.

Agnes Hedengård was a fantastic model. Hopefully, she’d find a company that appreciates her body measurements the way it is.

Don’t take ‘brain-loose’ and ‘anorexia promoting’ modelling companies seriously.
